The Indoor Trial World Championship visits Russia in it's second roundThe Peterburgsky Sports Complex of St Petersburg, a huge installation with seating capacity for 25.000 people, will host next Saturday the 20th the second round of the World Championship 2007 with all it's stars of indoor trial. The race will start al 4pm local time (GMT+3) and will consist of 7 selective and, as usual in Russia, eye-catching sections, as well as a double lane race and a high jump. The particioant riders will be the Spanish Toni Bou, who won the opening round in Granada last weekend and Adam Raga who has the present title and finished second. Also Albert Cabestany, Dougie Lampkin and the Japanese Takahisa Fujinami. As wild cardsљ Jeroni Fajardo and the Polish Tadeusz Blazusiak complete the participants list of this second round of the championship. It's the fourth time that St Petersburg hosts the Indoor Trial World Championship, a scenery where always the Spanish have won. The last two years it has been Raga and the first time, in 2003, Albert Cabestany. After his great debut as the new Repsol Montesa-HRC rider, Bou goes to St Petersburg as the first leader of the Championship and with intention of confirming that he's one of the applicants to the fight for the title. There are some who expect to improve the results obtained in Granada, like Raga and Cabestany. Sherco's rider, after his breakdown, counts on showing that he's in shape. The Catalan will be advantaged because he will be the last one attacking the sections of the first lap. For his part, Raga wants to demonstrate his rivals that he aspires to his fifth crown. Fajardo will try to repeat the performance he did in Granada, as he scaled the podium for the first time with Beta. It's also relevant that both times he has ridden in St Petersburg he made a second position. This time Lampkin is going to fight for riding the final lap, as in Granada he couldn't due to one point. For Fujinami Russia will be another opportunity to show a more regular and solid performance which allows him to scale the podium. Tadeusz Blazusiak, who made too many mistakes in Granada, hopes that he can improve his scorecard in this second round he'll ride with Beta. |
